Who wants to lose their natural teeth? Nobody! At least that’s everyone’s wish. Unfortunately, tooth loss is common in America, with more than 120 million Americans missing at least one or more teeth! While losing teeth is never fun, the good news is that there are numerous tooth replacement options to fix your gaps. Nicolas A. Ravon, DDS, MSD offers metal-free dental implants designed to act, look, and perform like your natural teeth.
When patients hear about dental implants, they are excited because they know they are getting a permanent solution to their missing teeth. However, you should know about the different types of dental implants to get a solution that works best for you.
Dr. Nicolas Ravon offers zirconia dental implants — a non-metal alternative to titanium implants. Instead of metal, zirconia provides a ceramic solution that’s durable and natural-looking, just like its metal counterparts.

Since not all patients can benefit from non-metal implants, you should book a consultation with Dr. Ravon to establish your eligibility. If implants aren’t suitable for you, we will suggest other tooth replacement options to rebuild your smile.
Installing zirconia implants isn’t that different from titanium dental implants, but subtle differences exist. First, you should book a consultation with a dentist to determine your candidacy. If given the go-ahead, we take digital x-rays and scans of your mouth to establish the right place to position the implant.
Next, we numb your mouth and incise your gums to expose the jawbone. We then drill a small hole in your bone and insert an implant to act as your root. We then place a healing cap and suture the surgical site to kick start recovery.
Zirconia implants have a one-piece design — the implant and the abutment (connector) are connected. Unlike titanium implants, you don’t need a second surgery to insert an abutment in zirconia implants. Once the implant fuses with the bone (after 4-6 months), we restore your tooth with a crown, denture, or bridge, depending on the number of teeth missing.
Non-metal implants offer many benefits, including:
